session planning guide.

first things first

we are here to connect.

your number one priority during our time together is connecting with your person/people.

disconnect with the world around you and allow yourself to be in the moment during our time together.

if you can do this - we will create magic.

it's not about trying to capture that perfect image. it's about capturing that perfect moment. we aren't here to stare into the camera and say cheese. you've seen my work. that's not what brought you here.

what location have you been dreaming of?

01.

at home.

the most intimate of session locations. a time-stamp on this era of life.  the point isn’t to have your home look like it should be featured in architectural digest - but to showcase where you do life and where your love is the most raw.

02.

the farm.

my favorite place on earth. there is so much beauty that comes with each season at the farm. from the soft hues and wildflowers in the spring to the fiery tones of a texas summer. a session at the farm is more than a place to document your story - it’s an experience.

03.

the city.

there’s something so playful (and romantic)  about the city. it’s a space where we can get creative & find different backdrops as we go. full disclosure - you'll be asked to prance across crosswalks like Carrie Bradshaw.

04.

something else.

activity-based session? in-studio? roaming through the botanical gardens? playing in the springs? a picnic at the park? let's chat about it & figure out how we can make your vision come to life.

wait. what should I wear?

what to embrace-

Y O U.

personality. texture. denims. layers.

wear something you wear everyday or something you would never actually wear in real life. basically, wear whatever you want.

cowgirl chic? blazer type of girl? French aesthetic? go with it! the more personality your bring to the table, the more ‘styled’ and unique your images will feel. don’t be scared of colors or patterns.

guys - henley's, t-shirts, sweaters. we love.

lighter colors tend to be more flattering and cast less shadows.

the weather! make sure everyone is comfortable. there’s nothing worse than shivering through a  session.

layers are soooo photogenic. the more the merrier.

getting hair and makeup done can feel extra. do it.

it photographs amazing.

what to avoid-

guys, this isn't an interview or the golf course.

no stiff collars or tucked-in shirts.

hard no to - logos, athletic fabrics, self-tanner.

still lost?

i'm here.

and so is -

& a white dress.

you are always safe in a white dress.

see you soon. xx.
