Rebekah & Josh

A Travis County Courthouse Wedding in Austin, Texas

Some wedding days are quiet on purpose.

Rebekah and Josh’s was exactly that.

They chose to privately exchange their vows this past December at the Travis County Probate Court—a lesser-known, less-trafficked courthouse in Austin that feels both intimate and timeless. Unlike the busier downtown courthouse, this space offers breathing room, stillness, and one of its most beloved features: the iconic black-and-white checkered tile floors that feel pulled from another era.

Another reason couples love this courthouse?

It allows weddings to be booked on Saturdays, making it a thoughtful option for couples wanting something intentional without sacrificing convenience.

Rebekah wore a vintage gown, soft and classic, paired with her grandmother’s pearls—pieces heavy with meaning, history, and love. Josh saw her for the first time just before their vows, and his reaction said everything. A quiet gasp. Tears welling. A hug held a little longer than necessary, as if time had slowed just for them.

The weather was perfect in that effortless winter way Austin sometimes surprises us with—cool, calm, and golden.

After their vows, we went just around the corner to the Texas State Capitol, where they were joined by their fur baby, Eleanor, who happily stole a bit of the spotlight. At one point, they exchanged waves with another couple eloping nearby, a small, shared moment of joy between strangers choosing love on the same day.

To celebrate, we ended at the South Congress Hotel, where Rebekah and Josh were staying. Champagne popped on their balcony. A private cake cutting followed. Laughter spilled out easily—real, belly laughs that echoed down the hallways. The kind you can’t fake.

Their full gallery is a blend of digital, film, and Polaroids, each medium adding its own layer to the story—soft grain, imperfect frames, and tangible memories you can feel as much as see.

This wasn’t the only wedding celebration for Rebekah and Josh. Their intimate courthouse vows were the beginning—shared quietly, just for them—before their larger celebration in late June at Villa Lungomonte in Pisa, Italy, where they’ll gather with loved ones to celebrate again, this time on a grander scale.

Two weddings. Two moments in time.

Both deeply theirs.

If this day was any indication, their love is the kind that doesn’t need a crowd to feel big. It’s easy. It’s palpable. And it shows up exactly when it matters most.
